Eminem Dedication...

My man Eminem graced the June cover of both Vibe and XXL magazine and since I'm the biggest Em fan (along with the biggest B.I.G. fan), I decided to do a post but the great white hope of hip-hop. In the XXL issue, they asked dozens of rappers what favorite songs, verses, guest appearances but the man so I guess I will do the same. I'm not going to lie. I was disappointed with the Relapse album. It was still dope, but not legendary status as his other 5 albums. But again, I'm not going to lie. I play "We Made You" like everyday. That song is hilarious. But anyways lets go in...

Favorite Album: The Marshall Mathers LP --> I was one of the 1.76 million people to buy this album the first week it came out and I was 11 years old. I remember the day because I wanted to buy the explicit version and the clerk wouldn't sell it to me. So I sent my Dad in there and buy it. Hearing all that stuff I heard at 11 years old, was probably a little bit much, but what made the album so incredible was that it WAS so over the top. The Christopher Reeves and homosexual references were wrong, but oh so hilarious. I seriously can't choose a favorite song off the album because the whole thing was straight magic. 'Criminal' I remembered listening to it 11 times in row. The bank robbery skit was brilliant. 'The Real Slim Shady', 'Stan', 'The Way I Am' were heavily played on the radio. 'Drug Ballad' was a big reason why I excited to go to college at 11. 'Ken Kaniff' always coming through. 'Kill You' was the probably the most out of hand. GODDDD love it.
Favorite Verse--> Dr. Dre feat. Eminem "Forgot About Dre"- I'll just leave you with the verse. This is probably the most rediculous thing ever said in a song.

So what do you say to somebody you hate?
Or anybody tryna bring trouble your way
Wanna resolve things in a bloodier way
Just study your tape of NWA.
One day I was walkin by
With a Walkman on
When I caught a guy givin me an awkward eye
And strangled him off in the parkin lot wit his Karl Kani
I don't give a fuck if it's dark or not
It's harder than me tryna park a Dodge
But I'm drunk as fuck
Right next to a humungous truck in a two car garage
Hoppin out wit two broken legs tryna walk it off
Fuck you too bitch call the cops
I'ma kill you and them loud ass muthafuckin barkin dogs
And when the cops came through
Me and Dre stood next to a burnt down house
Wit a can full of gas and a hand full of matches
And still weren't found out
From here on out it's the Chronic 2
Startin today and tomorrows the new
And I'm still loco enough
To choke you to death wit a Charleston chew
[Record scratch]
Slim shady hotter then a set of twin babies
In a Mercedes Benz wit the windows up
And the temp goes up to the mid 80's
Callin men ladies
Sorry Doc but I been crazy
There is no way that you can save me
It's ok go with him Hailey

Favorite Guest Appearance--> Eminem and Dr. Dre- Guilty Conscience- Haha the video was funny as hell and as soon as I saw the video, I downloaded the explicit version. I love how Dr. Dre is the voice of reason in the song and Eminem is just going offffff lol. The song and concepts were crafted beautifully and I loved every second.

Favorite Song--> This is probably the most unfair question you could ever ask an Eminem fan. And since my favorite album was the Marshall Mathers LP, Ill stray away from that album. Seriously I believe it is 'My Name Is'. It was a super crucial introduction to Eminem for me. The video was hilarious and I don't think I will ever get over this line.

My English teacher wanted to flunk me in junior high
Thanks a lot, next semester I'll be thirty-five
I smacked him in his face with an eraser, chased him with a stapler
and stapled his nuts to a stack of papers
Walked in the strip club, had my jacket zipped up
Flashed the bartender, then stuck my dick in the tip cup
Extraterrestrial, runnin over pedestrians
Raping lesbians, while they scream: "LET'S JUST BE FRIENDS!

HAHAHAHA, I swear will never get over it, I remember Mom wouldnt let buy his first album then Dad bought me the second. Strictly awesome.

Em I will always support you. Stay clean homie.

Ryan Brown---> Soundtrack Of A Normal Day

Let me tell you something. I listen to my iPod Touch for a good two to three solid hours everyday. And when I'm not on www.leakjones.com to see what is current in the hip-hop world and doing homework, I'm usually cranking something in my car (or walking to class) from the late 80's/early 90's. But on a normal day this would probably be my soundtrack.

I usually wake up in the morning with my headphones on, my iPod usually dead from letting it play all night. So I put my iPod on the charger and hop in the shower. Before I EVEN get dressed, I play something to prepare me for the day. Something from The Tribe Called Quest (Electric Relaxtion or Find A Way) is always good to get dressed to.

If I have to work in the morning, I usually ride to work to something to get me hype for being up early. As of recently it would be to the tune of F.L.Y.'s Swag Surfin, Hurricane Chris' She Fine (Halle Berry) but you can't go wrong with Lil' Wayne (Always Strapped or I'm Goin In) or Asher Roth (Be By Myself or The Lounge) or Wale (Ice Cream Girl or Chillin).

If I'm walking to class, you really can't go wrong with some slow R&B (something to the tune of Drake's Sooner Than Later and Little Bit or Jeremih's Birthday Sex or something from Maxwell or Genuine). Leaving class is a whole different genre. I prefer something from the rock persuasion. Chester French has been a relatively new favorite (Jacques Jams Mixtape, C'Mon, Bebe Buell, Time To Unwind), but I always like The Red Hot Chili Peppers (Under The Bridge or Strip My Mind) and Rage Against The Machine (anything from Utero)

Coming from work/class it varies tremendously on my mood. When I'm dead tired I need something soft on the ears with not much heavy bass (Q-Tip's The Renaisssance is a favorite along with softer jams by N.E.R.D.), but when I'm annoyed or in a pissed off mood ANYTHING by the Notorious B.I.G. is worth throwing on. From Ready To Die (Warning and Big Poppa) to the Biggie Duets (Spit Ya Game). Eminem is always great too because it always makes me feel better about my own life (Drug Ballad or Criminal). Pink Floyd and Big Pun is always good to hear when I'm trying to knock out some homework.

Getting ready to go out I love anything current. Something that's going to be played at the party/club. Something that I have to learn the new dance to. Shit that I downloaded this morning, that I didn't get a chance to listen to yet. Something that will make Bradley run upstairs and pop through my door and ask what the hell are you listening to??? As of lately thats the Kid Cudi's (Dat Kid From Cleveland Mixtape), the B.o.B's (Haterz Everywhere), Curren$y (This Aint A Mixtape), The Cool Kids (PLEASE DOWNLOAD 'Gone Fishing' here CANNONNNNN!),

Going to bed... again its always a toss up. All I do is flip to a full album, turn the TV off, turn the iPod to kinda low and just dream beautiful thoughts. 808's and Heartbreak by Kanye West has been a heavy favorite since November, because the music just takes you away to another planet. T.I.'s Paper Trail is a close second because I can listen to every song. Rhoads 17's Sex On Speakers (S.O.S.) is great to listen to when I'm going to bed angry lol. You gotta love your own masterpiece. Last thing I can think of falling to bed to is Drake's So Far Gone Mixtape (which is a heavy HEAVY candidate for mixtape of the year) DOWNLOAD HEREEEEE. Have a good oneeee

Happy Memorial Day

First off... I want to thank all the veterans who fought and the soldiers now who are fighting for freedoms here in the United States. A lot of people take these freedoms for granted but I thank God everyday for waking up to see another day and that my family and friends are okay. I thoroughly enjoyed my Memorial Day sitting on the couch watching The Game and Lifetime movies with friends. YES. LIFETIME MOVIES. I'm not ashamed lol. Plus we did play a few games of water pong for sport. Also tonight is Nuggets/Lakers Game 4 and I really counldn't be more excited. And to top my night off LAUREN IS GOING TO ACTUALLY SPEAK TO SPENCER ON THE HILLS TONIGHT. Mannnn i know i sound like the biggest female right now but I'm trying to enjoy my 4 days off and its day 2 right now...

Other than Memorial Day, everything hss been on the up and up. I'm finally adjusting to people not being in my life anymore and I'm slowly but surely getting used to being by myself. It's not easy by any means, but if this is how its supposed to be then I have to adjust. It just so crazy because shes everything I've ever wanted but she's now she is a completely different person. I think of myself as making mistakes and I was able to snap back to reality, but she is transforming into this ugly and cold-hearted person that I'm not used to. People like that don't shouldnt have the right to breathe air, but it seems like she is doing just fine. She's going to realize that was the dumbest mistake she has ever made in her life just like I was right about everything else in her past before me. Whatever, I really don't know who you are anymore, but have fun with your tub of lard lol.

Next up Chenelle's birthday extravaganza was this past weekend and I wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my baby sister. I can't believe you are 16 and I hope you have an amazing time at the Beyonce concert in DC. You deserve a good time after everything that has been going on with the family. Ryan loves you. Seriously lol.

The next few weeks over this epic summer is all about having a lust for life. I guess the benefits will come with the territory. Maybe we will start up the water pong again later tonight, there was word of people coming over tonight, but there is no definite yet. All i know is I probably wont be leaving this couch for another couple of hours. I'm having a good time with the company I have now, because they appreciate my company. If anyone has any plans around 10:30 let me and the roommates know...

iPod Updated

I'm so glad I came home for this very reason lol. But on the real, I'm so glad to see the family. I havent been home since spring break and nobody and nothing has really changed. The family got a new beagle puppy named Zera. At first meeting the new puppy she seems like the sweetest little thing in the world, but she has so much energy that it really just gets on everyone's nerves. Also she HAS to sleep in the bed with someone. She can't sleep on the floor or in the bed by herself. Mom had to learn to deal with that early. Also my brother is continuing to get even bigger. I think by the time he starts his senior year, the kid is going to be a solid rock. The kid is absolutely rediculous. He dared to call me anorexic and I'm a pretty big guy myself lol. It was awesome to surprise Mom coming through the door on Mother's Day. Kwame' and I worked the Mother's Day brunch at work that day and made the trip back to Lynchburg right after. Finally making it home around 8. I scared the shit out of her coming through the door. She said I was lucky she didn't shoot me and my reaction was "Ma... we don't live in southeast DC anymore... this is Lynchburg."
Anyways back to Richmond tomorrow and I'm returning with groceries (thank God). I'm finally getting back into the mode of working all the time with no school (even though I start summer school at the end of the month). I'm getting more recognition at the country club and I'm feeling more and more comfortable every shift. So I think it will be a good summer as far as making money. I just have to get the damnnnn radiator fixed so my car can be street legal...AGAIN. Dad mentioning coming into town to fix it, but with his work schedule and him moving into Nana's old house in Appomattox, I don't exactly when that will be. Hopefully really soon in the next week or so, so I'm trying to be optimistic. Anyways I need to enjoy the final few hours here in the 'Burg with the family. Stay Tuned.

Bebe Buell

Wow I am officially on summer break. It's the most bittersweet feeling in the world because I'm still taking two summer classes and I'm backing to working full time hours at the club. It's going to be the first summer away from my family, but hopefully both Marc and Donovan will come down to stay some. It's going to be an interesting summer to say the least for a variety of reasons, but I think as long as I have my munchkin Rach and the homies it should be a good summer too.
I just realized that I wont have a meal plan over the summer so eating for the next three months without Mom and Dad's help is going to be kinda tough. I mean, I know they will send me food here and there, but I know I am going to be on my own for the most part. And summertime means that the gym isnt going to be crazy packed on the regular now that everyone is going home. I just want the benefit of using the bench without being discouraged by the fact that I have to wait 45 minutes. I want to get back into supreme football shape even though I wont be playing football of any kind. I just love being in top physical condition. It's a process that I will be starting Monday. My brother is the strongest high school football player in the state of Virginia and the kid is a superfreak in the weight room. And with my other little brother Donovan growing like half a foot since like January, I can see him being huge also. AND Mom's prized child/ baby of the family got suspeneded from school for 3 days for getting into a fight with a 5th grader... Nicholas is in the 3rd grade. LOL. From a developmental standpoint the 5th grader should have killed my brother, but from what Mom told me Nicholas came out with only a few scratches but the 5th grader had to go to the hospital and get stitches. My family can kick your family's ass. SEE US
I think this will either be a dream summer or the summer from hell, because no matter how bad I wanted to move out of my parent's house and just do for myself, its hard doing a lot of the stuff I do without them breathing down my neck. Even though they were always on my case, I always got everything done. And though they hate the idea of me living at the apartment they know it was the best thing (even though they will never admit it). But we will see how everything plays out the next few days. I thought tonight was going to be the first night I was going to sleep-in in like 2 weeks, but I have to get up early and go to Auto Zone so I can get a radiator seal for my damn Camry. Every couple of weeks there is something wrong with us and I'm fed up with it. We will see how many is in August and i'll see if I can put in a down payment on my own newish ride. Like a Nissan Maxima, newer Toyota Camry or a Honda Accord. But we will see. I'll keep you posted.
