Hottest MCs In The Game (MY List)

MTV recently just came out with their yearly list of the hottest MCs in the game. Here is the MTV list:

  1. Jay-Z
  2. Lil Wayne
  3. Drake
  4. Kanye West
  5. Rick Ross
  6. Gucci Mane
  7. Young Jeezy
  8. Fabolous
  9. 50 Cent
  10. Raekwon
The list is kinda shaky to me for a couple of reasons. One, Eminem who released one of the highest selling albums of the year with Relapse did not make the list. WTF. Second, I think 50 Cent was ranked a little high at number 9 and Raekwon the chef was ranked a little high at number 10. But overall, I think the list is pretty good. While I was bored at work I decided to put together my own list. With my list I added a one liner about why the are on my list, added two more spots to make the list 12 and a link to my one of favorite present tracks. ENJOY!!!

1. Jay-Z "The Blueprint 3 pushes Hova to the top. Very impressive album" On To The Next One
2. Eminem "Relapse wasn't his best, but Slim Shady is back" Beautiful
3. Lil Wayne "Headlined the highest grossing hip-hop tour...Ever. Weezy stays hot" Bedrock
4. Drake "Comeback Season (Classic) So Far Gone (Legendary) Thank Me Later??" Fear
5. Kanye West "Continues to push boundaries and stay relevant. Autotune or not" Streetlights
6. Rick Ross "Deeper Than Rap, one of the best albums of 2009" Face
7. Fabolous "Losos Way. Remixes continue to be hotter than the originals though" Throw It In The Bag Remix
8. Young Jeezy "Appearance after appearance, tour with Wayne, Thug Motivation 103" My President
9. Gucci Mane "The mixtapes just wont STOP. But definitely hottest in the hood. Photoshoot
10. Wale "Mixtapes are too silly. Attention: Deficit November 10th" Inhibitions: Let Loose
11. 50 Cent "Losing respect FAST, but I will listen to Before I Self Destruct" OK, You're Right
12. Raekwon "Cuban Linx Part II is illy. Underdog from the Wu-Tang come through" House Of Flying Daggers

About The Mixtape + Tracklist

“My mixtape tells the story of just one talented and determined young man who feels he has a lot to prove outside of music. At first I wanted it to be more of short story, but as I started to progress (when it came to my writing and exploring the beats) it became an 18 track story. Each track you can feel the growth of the young man. He starts as a college kid who wants to live the college life of girls, partying, drinking and drugging until he meets that one special girl and he decides he wants to make the ultimate commitment sooner rather than later. The overall tape is really relaxed, there are a couple tracks that have been heard before but the majority of it is new stuff I plan on recording this fall semester. I wanted to add some of the most amazing artists to this tape and some of it is their music, but everything is perfectly placed for the theme of the story I am trying to tell. It’s not the most amazing love story, but the thing that is going to make this mixtape much different is that this overall story has never been covered. We will always have the stories of the killers, the hustlers and drug dealers, but that is not who I am or the story I am trying to tell. This is just a honest story with good music that I hope everyone will like. It’s titled ‘How Do You Feel About That??’ because it is basically not a story that is explored in hip-hop. It is a little bit more than hip hop in some elements and tracks and I want people’s honest opinion about the mixtape and the story that is behind. This might be my first and last mixtape and I just want people to enjoy it just as much as I enjoyed telling the story. I love music and this is going to be my definition of what music is to me.”

Little Weapon

Little Terry got a gun, he got from the store,
He bought it with the money he got from his chores,
He robbed candy shop told her lay down on the floor,
Put the cookies in his bag took the pennies out the drawer.

Little Kalil got a gun he got from the rebels,
To kill the infidels and American devils,
A bomb on his waist,
A mask on his face,
Prays five times a day,
And listens to Heavy Metal.

Little Alex got a gun he took from his dad,
That he snuck into school in his black book bag,
His black nail polish, black boots and black hair,
He's gonna blow away the bully that just pushed his ass..

Real recognize real.
